Johannes Wiener works at the intersection of ecosystems, art, architecture and social change. Since a very young age, he manifested his fascination for nature and was determined to follow a path which would allow him to stay in contact and develop this passion. When he was 14 years old, he enrolled himself for the studies of gardening architecture and later on worked several years as a gardener. In this field, he is concerned with the protection of – and the creation of diverse, resilient and healthy ecosystems.
“We, as human beings, are an inseparable part of the ecosystems in which we live and our destiny is deeply interwoven with them.”
This also informs his art and architecture in which tries to create an attitude to caring-collectively survival with dignity in times of a climate and social catastrophe.
Johnnes currently studies architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
